BEGINNING APRIL 1, 2020 ALL GOLF CART OWNERS will be required to provide proof of insurance and sign/submit a waiver at the office before operating their golf cart on campground property. There will be a $5 fee to register each golf cart, and guests will be required to clearly display the distributed proof of registration sticker on the bottom left front window or left front bumper of the registered golf cart while operating it on campground property. The registration and sticker must be renewed during your first visit each season. If your sticker is lost or damaged beyond recognition, you will be required to purchase a replacement.

Our goal is to provide a family friendly place where parents feel safe letting their children be children.
While we try to be fair with our rules, we do not hesitate to enforce them for the safety and enjoyment of our guests. To make your stay more enjoyable, please take a few minutes to familiarize your party with the following rules and information. Please inform us if anything is unclear or if there is anyway we can make your stay more enjoyable.
We do not offer refunds or exceptions from our cancellation policy for illness or inclement weather!
Alcohol: Alcohol is permitted only on your site and under control. Campers disregarding this may be asked to leave without refund.
Awnings: We encourage all campers to put up their awnings if leaving due to the possibility of sudden storms.
Campsites: Please leave fire rings and picnic tables at their respective sites. Please do not move fire rings on grass sites and please build campfires in fire rings only. Do not put trash or glass bottles in the fire rings for the safety of staff and future guests.
Car Passes: All guest vehicles on property must have a valid pass that is displayed from the rear view mirror facing outward.
Check-in and Check-out: Check-in time is 2:oo pm and Check-out time is 1:00 pm for campsites. Check-in time is 3:00 pm and Check-out time is 11:00 am for cabins. If guests have checked out of their site/cabin they may get a half day pass for $5/person to stay the rest of the day. Early check-in is only available for tent or RV (not cabin) guests if the site is empty.
Drones: Guests must receive staff permission before flying drones above OLC property. This is to respect neighboring property owners' privacy.
DVD Check-Out: Movies are available in the office to borrow for free. There will be a $20 charge to the guest account per movie not returned by checkout. Only G or PG rated movies and E or E10 rated video games are allowed to be played in the recreation room.
Electric Vehicles: Electric vehicles (children’s car, go kart, scooter, segway, electric bike, etc) are not allowed to be used off your guest site unless operated by a licensed adult AND driven under 10mph.
Firearms: Open carry, illegal possession, and public display of firearms is not permitted in the campground. Discharge of firearms on campground property is prohibited unless in accords with NC Concealed Carry Laws. Violators will be asked to leave without refund.
Fireworks: Fireworks (including sparklers) are not permitted in the campground. Violators will be asked to leave without refund.
Fishing: Fishing is permitted in both lakes without a fishing license. Both lakes stock bass, bream, catfish, bluegill, and trout. The large lake is catch and keep if you are going to clean and eat them and the small lake is catch and release only. No fishing in the swimming areas.
Food: Please do not leave food, trash, or coolers out and unattended at your campsite. Secure everything in a vehicle or camper at night and/or before leaving to discourage our “furry friends” from visiting your site and frequenting our campground.
Foul Language: We are a traditional family campground and do not permit foul language as determined by staff within earshot of other guests.
Golf Carts: All golf carts must be battery operated, properly registered with the office, and properly display our proof of registration sticker. All golf cart drivers must have a valid, full privilege driver's license. Please park your cart so that if the brake is inadvertently released the cart will not roll. Do not leave keys in your golf cart when it is unattended.
Illegal Activities: Illegal activities are not permitted at Orchard Lake. Violators will be asked to leave without refund. This includes but is not limited to possession and/or use of illegal substances.
Lakefront: Please familiarize yourself with the lakefront safety rules. Please note that children under 14 must wear a life jacket while boating and have a responsible adult supervising them at the lakefront at all times. Note that there is no lifeguard on duty and all swimming and boating is done at your own risk. The lakefront closes at dusk. Boats are not permitted in the catch and release pond.
Pets: All pet owners must complete a pet agreement prior to bringing their pet on property. We are very pet friendly, but we are unable to allow pit bulls, rottweilers, or pets with ANY aggressive history towards people, children, or other pets (biting, fighting, etc) on campground property. Pets are not permitted in A-Frame 1-3 or Log Cabin 4 and only registered pets are permitted in Camping Cabins 5-8. Our camp dogs Cinnamon and Davy Jean are friendly but please don't feed them.
Public Display of Affection: We are a traditional family campground and do not permit inappropriate public displays of affection as determined by management.
Public Display of Politics: Guests are not allowed to display political party/candidate/activist flags or signage (e.g. Let’s Go Brandon, BLM, Confederate, LGBTQ, etc). Those who choose not to respect this policy will be asked to leave without refund.
Quiet Hours: Please note that quiet hours are from 10:30 pm to 8:00 am. Day guests visiting a site must leave before 10:00 pm. All other day guests must leave before dark.
Ramps and Rails: Please familiarize yourself with the skating safety rules posted at the skate park. All users of ramps and rails must wear helmets and Orchard Lake does not assume any liability for accidents.
Rates: Rates include 2 adults and 4 children OR 4 adults. Additional guests are subject to additional charges and must register at the office.
Respect: We ask that you and those with you respect our facilities and fellow campers and generally treat our facilities and others the way you would want to be treated.
Speed Limit: The speed limit throughout the campground is 10 mph. Please respect this for the safety of other guests and children. Guests who are endangering those around them with their vehicle speed will be asked to leave their vehicle parked in the Palmetto Trail lot for the remainder of their stay. Also, please do not go through the hill sites to avoid speed bumps.
Smoking: Smoking is not allowed in any buildings, cabins, bath houses, or under the white canopy tents. There is a $200 fee for smoking in a cabin.
Trash: We do not offer trash pick-up at your site and ask that you dispose of trash in our dumpsters during your stay and as you leave. Please do not leave trash at your site, in the outside cabin trash can, or in your fire ring.
Trespassing: Please respect neighboring property owners (specifically the property identified on the campground map). Neighboring property owners will report trespassing people and pets.
Visitors: Day visitors should check into the office upon arrival. Day passes are available for $8/person. Day guests visiting a site must leave before 10:00 pm. All other day guests must leave before dark.
Wi-Fi: Please feel free to use our wireless Internet service. We ask that you do not use this connection for immoral i.e. pornography etc., illegal, or other such uses. We also ask that you do not use excessive bandwidth, or download movies or music.
Wildlife: It is not uncommon to encounter a variety of wildlife throughout the campground including geese, ducks, turkeys, deer, and more. Please do not feed the wildlife (especially the waterfowl) and please do not leave food or trash out at your site or cabin unattended and/or overnight.
Zip-Line: Guests are able to use the zip-line under the following guidelines: only one rider at a time, rider must be able to hold onto the handlebar, the zip-line closes at dusk. Orchard Lake does not assume any liability for accidents.
Disclaimer: This facility is privately owned and operated. We reserve the right to become a private membership association. We reserve the right to evict without notice anyone who does not obey our guidelines without refund. We are not responsible for accidents, injuries, or loss of property of any kind. Cancellation Policy
We do not offer refunds or exceptions from our cancellation policy for illness or inclement weather!
All reservations that are NOT for Cabins, Holidays*, Groups, Extended Stay (Monthly) and Prepper Camp are subject to a one night deposit. This deposit is non refundable or transferable in the case of a no-call/no-show or any cancellation or change made less than 2 days prior to arrival (must cancel Wednesday before the office closes if arrival is Friday).
NON Holiday*/Prepper Camp Cabin reservations are subject to a two night deposit. This deposit is non refundable or transferable in the case of a no-call/no-show or any cancellation or change made less than 7 days prior to arrival (must cancel Friday before the office closes if arrival is the following Friday).
Holiday* and Prepper Camp cabin and site reservations are subject to a three night deposit. This deposit is non refundable or transferable in the case of a no-call/no-show or any cancellation or change made less than 7 days prior to arrival (must cancel Friday before the office closes if arrival is the following Friday).
Group Reservations holding 2 or less Cabins and/or 4 or less Tent and/or RV sites must contact the office at least 7 days prior to arrival for deposits to be refundable or transferable (to cancel or change dates). Group Reservations holding 3 or more Cabins and/or 5 or more Tent and/or RV Sites must contact the office at least 21 days prior to arrival for deposits to be refundable or transferable (to cancel or change dates). All Group Tent Camping reservations require a $100 deposit. All individual cabin and/or site reservations require applicable deposits per type and dates.
Extended Stay (Monthly) reservations are subject to a $250 security deposit. This deposit is non refundable or transferable in the case of a no-call/no-show or any cancellation or change made less than 14 days prior to arrival. This deposit is also forfeit if a change in departure date is requested less than 14 days before the requested departure date. If there is no late cancellation and/or arrival departure change, the security deposit will be applied/credited toward your last payment due.
*Holidays are Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day
There are no refunds for early departure or inclement weather! No Exceptions!
